Attorney and Paralegal Volunteers

Volunteer attorneys will provide pro bono consultations and/or direct legal representation of veterans in need of legal services in a variety of legal practice areas.  They may be involved in drafting of documents, appearances, and full blown litigation with clients depending on the scope of your volunteer assignment.  All clients are undergoing aftercare services including mental health treatment at the Department of Veterans Affairs treatment facilities in San Diego County.  They are further assisted by peer support specialists, called Battle Buddies, in navigating their aftercare requirements.  Attorneys will be part of a multidisciplinary team to clear obstacles and barriers to success as these clients resume life in the community once again.  Attorneys may be assisted by CVLTF staff, volunteer paralegals, law students and interns.
